Show u OUTLOOK FOR SHOPS TEAM IS NONE TOO BRIGHT; H. S., GOOD While Coach Heslington is of the opinion that the Milford high school will enjoy one of its best basketball seasons in years, C. A. Bailey, manager man-ager of the shops team, is none too sanguine about his team's prospects. Elmo Corey and Claude Adams, two mainsprings in the attack of the shops team last year, having resigned their jobs at the shops are not in Milford. Corey has accepted a position in Magna and will undoubtedly be found in the Copper League this winter. Adams has returned to his home in Panguitch and it is unlikely that he will be found on the hardwoods at all this season. Jack Ahern, a guard, is in school at B. Y. U. However, Mr. Bailey pins a lot of hopes in Tom Bettridge, last year's flash at a guard position. Charlie Glenn will also be on hand. New men are out for the squad and they may year. Among these, is Ferguson, from Cedar City, who promises to take care of the places vacated this make a good bid for a place on the regulars. Illness has prevented the squad from working out much, although al-though the popular indoor game has already begun up and down the line with Caliente and Las Vegas blowing off the lid last week. The champion Caliente team won handily. Coach Heslington, of the high schoolers, is searching about for a good line up of pre-season games in order to get his team in shape before the regional grind. |
