Show SERVICES HELD FOR DANIEL W. SMITHSON MONDAY AFTERNOON Simple and impressive funeral services ser-vices were held for Daniel W. Smith-son Smith-son at his residence here Monday at noon, Mrs. A. J. Atkin conducting the rites under the auspices of the Christian Christ-ian Science Church. Mr. Smithson died suddenly of. a heart attack. Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock leaving nine sons and daughters daught-ers and a host of friends to mourn his passing. For fifty years he had been a resident of this locality, had been active in stockraising and had participated parti-cipated generously in civic affairs. Native of -Albania Born in Gardo, Alabama, January 10, 1866, where he spent his youth, he came west about 50 years ago and married Julia A. Mooney a native of Cleveland, at Ore Grande, California in 1888. The pioneering couple moved to Milford and here and at Frisco, their ten children were born. Mrs. Smithson's death preceeded that of her husband's by three years. Interment in Salt Lake Following the services here Friday for Mr. Sniithson the body was shipped ship-ped to Salt Lake City where interment inter-ment took place in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Tuesdav at 10 o'clock. He is survived by his children: Mrs. Alien Mcintosh, Mrs. Theresa Mcintosh, Mcin-tosh, Mrs. Geraldine Mathews of Seattle, Seat-tle, Washington, Mrs. Ursula Kesler of Stocton, California, and Catherine, Lee, Marion, Bert and James Smith-son Smith-son of Milford. Their loss is Milford's loss for Mr. Smithson was one of the real "old timers" of the locality. His enterprise, enter-prise, his strong individuality, character char-acter and resourcefulness were factors fact-ors that in him and in the other early settlers of the locality made the building build-ing of a community possible. o |
