Show SOUTH MILFORD Representative Cates accompanied by Messers Dryden and Jones made a trip to Beaver last Thursday, appearing appear-ing before the County Commissioners to secure the appointment of a pound master for this project. Charles Thomas has been 'appointed and any stray stock can be impounded in the pasture adjoining his house and legal charges will be made for the same. Dr. and Mrs. Addison Bybee with their small daughters, Alice and Kath-erine Kath-erine spent the week end at Lehman's Caves. Volney DeLeeuw brought his bride who was Miss Janice Patterson of Beaver to South Milford two weeks ago. The young couple will make their home on the groom's ranch. The Social Hour Club entertained their families and friends at the club house last Thursday evening with a party 'and program which for attendance atten-dance and brilliance of performance has never been exceeded on the flat. Much credit is due the committee consisting con-sisting of Mesdames Harold Sautter, C. A. Rohn, J. G. Weber and Parley Fish er for this achievement. Preceding the living pictures, Mrs. Ralph Ellingsworth sang most pleasantly pleas-antly accmpanied with a violin obligate obliga-te by Dr. C. R. Parrish and piano by Mrs. Fern Bennett. Mrs. James Rollins aa the grandmother, grand-mother, turned the leaves of an old photo album and read a recitative dialogue, dia-logue, written by Mrs Harold Sautter. As the granddaughter, impersonated by Miss Loretta Murdock listened, living liv-ing pictures appeared in a large gilded gild-ed frame, costumed to represent lovers lov-ers of every period from the Stone age through the colonial to the flapper of the great war and the present day. Mrs. Rolin staged the pictures and directed the actors, all of whom were of local families. Incidental music for the portrayal of these pictures was beautifully rendered off stage by Mrs. Fisher, Messers. Jones, Twitchell and Vance Fisher. The committee on refreshments with Mrs. Weber as chairman served delicious home made ice cream and cake to the members and guests, after which dancing concluded a delightful evening. Arthur William lost a valuable jersey jer-sey heifer and a fine horse last week. Mrs. Elmer Golden is at home again after an illness of eight days at the Milford hospital. The second cutting of hay is about finished, tonnage is much more satis-factry satis-factry than the first cutting and the hay is of good quality owing to the absence of any heavy rains. |
