Show ROADS AND TRAILS SUBJECT OF TALK AT LIONS MEETING A report on the condition of the roads to Lehman cave and the beauty of the trail trips in that vicinity was made by Dr. Addison Bybee ait the luncheon meeting of the Lions held Wednesday noon at the Union Pacific restaurant. Dr. Bybee with Mrs. Bybee, Mrs. Merrill .Miller, ..Benita James,. Miss Rossiter of Butte, Montana and Miss Thompson of Los Angeles spent three days at the Cave enjoying the trail trips in the surrounding country and the excellence of the accomodations at Lehman. "The rbad between here and Lehman Leh-man cave is in excellent condition" Dr. Bybee reported, "In fact the entire highway between Milford and Ely is always well Kept up and at present in the best condition that it has been in years." "The accomodations at the cave are clean and most comfortable and the saddle horses available for trail trips betten than I have found in any of the Utah parks" he added. During his stay at Lehman he took the trail trip into Baker Creek Coun-i Coun-i try, the Shoshone Trail and finally the j trip up to Stella Lake. The Baker i Creek Country and the Shoshone trail trip offer beautiful timberland scenery abundantly watered by mountain streams where trout fishing is good, while the trip to Stella Lake is one of the most beautiful in the country. The trail leads through meadow land and timbered muntains. Stella Lake situated situ-ated 11,000 feet up the side of Mt. Wheeler, was named for Mrs. Fred Shoemaker and proves to be one of the beauty spots of Nevada. A Glacier is seen orl the route and over a hundred hund-red fords are made of various streams where trout are plentiful. Here the doctor anil his party saw a number of deer also. Concluding his report, Doctor Bybee stated that Utah and Nevada people should not fail to see for themselves the natural beauties of the Lehman cave country and should be made aware of the good condition of the Milford-Ely road which is the direct artery to the cave. |
