Iee, aged 24, of Virgin, died .Monday morning at the Washington Wash-ington County hospital where he was brought Saturday night following a:i accident in which the horse he wa:j riding became entangled with a passing pass-ing automobile. He sustained a fractured frac-tured skull, his right leg was broken above and below tho knee and his ! 'vd and body were badly lacerated and bruised. At the time of the accident Lee was returning to his home in Virgin from work and was riding a some-v.'hn1. some-v.'hn1. fractious horse. While on the ' i dug-way, a short distance east of , Virgin, he- met a car and as the ma-', ma-', chine drew abreast his horse shied and jumped directly in its path. The 1 horse and rider became entangled in I the machine and were dragged a . , considerable distance before the car could be brought to a stop. The ma-; ma-; chine belonged to William Gifford '-:A was driven by Othell Gifford. After stopping his car Gifford assisted as-sisted the injured man into the machine ma-chine of William Worthen who drove up at the time. He was taken to Virgin and was brought to the St. George hospital by a brother. Every effort was made to save his life, but he passed away at 0 o'clock Monday morning. , n 1 |
