Show HOOVER SENTIMENT CONTROLS MEETING The sentiment at the state republican republi-can convention, held last week at Salt Lake City, was greatly in favor of Hoover for president, according to George Jefferson and Karl S. Carlton, Carl-ton, delegates from this district. A small minority expressed themselves for Lowden, but they carried small weight in numbers. A motion was made to instruct the Utah delegates to the national convention to vote for Hoover, but this was defeated. Hence, the Utah delegation will vote as free lances, although it is practically certain cer-tain they will back Hoover. Eleven delegates were selected to attend the national convention at Kansas City. Of the eleven, two are women. Ernest Bamtberger, candidate candi-date for senator, resigned as national nation-al committeeman and Harold P. Fabian was elected to sit in the national councils in his stead. |
