Show o PROMINENT IRON COUNTY MAN DIES IN PAROWAN Lucian Nelson Marsden, 69, of Parowan, former state senator, prominent prom-inent L. D. S. church leader, wool-grower wool-grower and banker of Iron county, died Friday morning in a Cedar City hospital of acute intestinal disorder. Mr. Marsden was president of the Bank of Iron County, having held that position for the last 21 years and prior to that was cashier, having been one of the founders. He was a leading figure in promoting the Southern Utah Rambouillet Sheep association, as-sociation, and was successful in other oth-er business enterprises. Mr. Marsden was active in politics and civic affairs, having been mayor and councilman of Parowan and President Pre-sident of the Iron county school board. He was chairman of the local draft committee during the world, war. He was a member of the state senate of 1927-29. For the last seven years he had been a member of the Parowan stake of the L. T. S. church, and for several years prior to that was stake president. presi-dent. He also served two years in the southern states mission. Mr. Marsden was born in Parowan October 11, 1862, a son of William and Sarah .Scoville Marsdent early settlers here. He was married to Miss Mary Matheson in June 1886. Surviving are his widow, and the following sons and daughters: William, Wil-liam, Parowan, L. N. Jr., Milo and Albert Marsden and Mrs. Nellie Durham, Dur-ham, Salt Lake; Mrs. Florence M. Joseph, Mrs. Dean Richards and Mrs. Glenna Ward, Parowan, and 25 grand children. |
