Show PRISONERS OUT AGAIN; THIRD BREAK IN MONTH Walter Lewis and W. D. Wayne, the two inmates of the county jail who have been occupying more than their share of space in the local and state papers the past month, were again causing considerable comment last Sunday evening and all day Monday, Mon-day, following their daring escape from jail just before six o'clock Sunday Sun-day night. They made their get-away this time by prying loose the bars with a mahogany stick of fire wood. The bars which had previously previous-ly been twice sawed thru by these prisoners, had been welded together again, and probably did not offer much resistance to these determined jail birds. No cars have been reported stolen, so they may still be hiding out here locally. If they have left the county they are no doubt safely out of the state by now. This was the third jail break for the pair, who were being held awaiting await-ing trial for robbing the O. P. Skaggs System store and the Consolidated Wagon and Machine Co. store at Delta Del-ta last month. Fillmore Progress. |
