Show High School Notes Student Body Assembly On Friday, October 23, a student body assembly was given in the high school. Those who took part on the program were: A reading by Theresa Southam, a dance by Helen Clark and Helen Kinney, a reading Janet Rollins, Rol-lins, and the Booster club performed a little stunt to announce their sponsoring spon-soring of a yell contest for the betterment bet-terment of the school. The program was thoroughly enjoyable en-joyable and each number was applauded ap-plauded vigorously. Student Body Assembly Another student bo?y assembly was given on October 27. It was short but interesting. Those who took part were: song-, Ethel Hearn, piano solo, Ruth Pool, reading, Theresa Ther-esa Southam, reading, Helen Kinney. Senior Carnival The Seniors of the Milford High school, are making elaborate preparations prepara-tions for their annual Senior Carnival, Carni-val, to be given tomorrow night, Fri day 30th. This is going to be the biggest and best carnival that has yet been put on in the Milford High school' building. The whole building and general idea of the carnival is decorated around the lines of a Pirate Scene. One passing the Milford High school will notice the flag of our dance, the good old Jolly Roger, flying fly-ing over our building, beckoning to all to attend the dance of mystery and fun. Declamation Contest The annual Declamation Contest sponsored by the American Legion will be held Armistice day, Nov. 11. The elimiations are going to be made Wednesday 28th. There will he two chosen from the Milford High School, and two from the Minersville High to orate Nov. 11. We will predict a victory for the Milford High, for all are working very hard to walk away witn the handsome medal to be given the winner by the American Legion. Song and Yell Contest Organized The Booster club of the high school are sponsoring a school song and yell contest for the studentbody. It will last two weeks, beginning October 23 and ending November C. Two prizes will be given, one for the best yell and another for the best song. The contributions will be judged judg-ed by Miss Fernley, Luella Bird and Mr. Hand. ' The Booster club hopes to stimulate school spirit and arouse in the students stu-dents a desire to help their school, by this contest. Domestic Science Lab. Moved The Domestic Science Department is being moved from its usual place on the bottom floor, into a room on the top floor next to the sewing room It is planned that this move will make the sewing and cooking classes more convenient for the students and the teacher. |
