Show BEARDED VETS PUT OVER BIG 49'ERSSHOW All Features of "The Old West" Revived Except the Gun Play, in Milford's 49'ers Celebration. Prizes Awarded. Interest in making the Forty-Nin-ers' Celebration and Ball a success was so general and spontaneous in Milford that members of the Ame-iean Ame-iean Legion were hard put in their endeavors to make correct awards of prizes. However, local business houses were so generous in their donations of prizes that each who was outstanding in the parade or other 49'ers characterizations was voted a prize. The third annual celebration was considered very successful, both by the Legion and its Auxiliary, as well as by the hundreds who attended the festivities. The day properly began with the parade in the afternoon.. A brass band, led by Des Hickman, and comprised com-prised of memibers of the high school and U. P. organizations, furnished martial music for the parade. The parade was well arranged, with all of the characterizations, clever ones and interesting. The streets were full of people and all available parking park-ing space for cars was taken. The Forty-Niners Ball and carnival was a colorful affair with a packed hall. Dancing to the music of the Milford Orchestra continued until about five in the morning. The concessions con-cessions in the old opera house were in full blast and did a big business.
