Show P. O. WILL CHARGE PARCEL DEMURRAGE After October 1 next, there will be a demurrage charge of five cents a day on all C. 0. D. parcels handled by the postoffice, which are not delivered within 15 days after their arrival. There will be no charjre for the first fo days" of retention. When no delivery limit is placed on a parcel by the sender, it will be held 30 days if not delivered, the demur-' demur-' rage charge on such a parcel would be 75 cents, -and this amount would be collected from the sender of the parcel when returned, or from the addressee if delivered at the end of the 30-day retention period. Senders of C. O.. D. parcels who de- sire to avoid the payment of demur-i demur-i rage charges at all times, should re-' re-' quest that all parcels be returned in 15 days and that request should be placed' on the parcel at the time of mailing. Receivers of C. O. D. parcels par-cels desiring to be exempt from the payment of these charges, should accept ac-cept such parcels promptly on arrival, or within 15 days of their arrival. |
