Show Mrs. Jefferson's Father Dies In Salt Lake Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson were called to Salt Lake City Friday by the death of Mrs. Jefferson's father, Alfred Al-fred Smirthwaite, 64, who died Thursday at his home in that city of pneumonia. Mr. Smurthwaite was born May 4, 1867, in Manchester, England, and came to Salt Lake 45 years ago, engaging en-gaging in the seed business. Mr. Smurthwaite was an L. D. S. missionary mis-sionary in England from 1890 until 1892. Ha is survived by his widow, Margaret Mar-garet Brown Smurthwaite, and seven sons and daughters, as follows: Alfred Al-fred T., Charles B. and Harry C. Smurthwaite, Mrs. Sarah Mack and Miss Mary Smurthwaite, Salt Lake; Mrs. Margaret Heywood, Holbrook, Ariz.; Mrs. Grace Jefferson, Milford. Twelve grandchildren also survive. |
