Show uonsIanquet and have dance About twenty couples enjoyed a banquet at the Union Pacific dining room Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock, the affair being sponsored by members mem-bers of the Milford Lions club in compliment com-pliment to their ladies. The entertainment was in the hands of M. P. Lewis and Jos. R. Murdock. L G Clay presided at the head of the long banquet table. In the course of the evening, George Jefferson was presented with a wooden elephant as a symbol of his election to political-office. political-office. Very beautiful caps and tokens were given. The place cards were minature lions. There were no formal speeches, the evening being pleasantly Dassed in jokes and conversation. Dr. C. R. Parrish led the assembled lions and guests in singing. The banquet was a sumptious one and served in a most excellent style. Following the banquet, a dance was enjoyed until a late hour at the I. 0. 0. F. hall. |
