Show BRYCE CANYON NAT'L. PARK ROAD FINISHED Eleven miles of scenic road around the Bryce Canyon rim, beginning about a mile south and west of the lodge following the rim of the canyon, can-yon, have been completed. There are three branch roads which lead to the rim at various points of interest ,two extending to Bryce canyon can-yon proper and another to that section sec-tion of the canyon called Little Bryce. At regular intervals the road is widened wid-ened to accomodate the parking of cars. This road makes it possible to view the canyon from points which formerly could not be reached with convenience. Approximately $132,000 have been expended on the eleven miles of graveled grav-eled surface road which was begun about July 5, 1931, and completed October 27, 1931. The project has afforded continuous employment for about fifty men. Intentions are to connect this scenic scen-ic highway with highway 89 at the Sevier sumimit. About nineteen miles of road will accomplish this aim. As yet, however ,the contract for this section of road is to be let, but in all probability the road will be contracted contract-ed and completed during the summer of 1932. Garfield County News. n , |
