Show SOUTH MILFORD The Social Hour club met last Thursday afternoon at the club house with Mrs. F. W. Gospill and Miss Gladys Gospill. During the interesting interest-ing business session an invitation was given from the Relief Society to take part in their dramatic entertainment entertain-ment to be given in Milford in October Octo-ber the invitation was referred to the committee consisting of Mrs. Ralph E!'inrsv,-orth, Mrs. C. A. Rohn and Mrs. Addison Bybee. The club was cd to send exhibits to the Flower Lew in Salt Lake, but this did not -eom feasible. Affer adjournment ' ' hostesses seated the members at - 'on- table decorated with graceful ' s':ets of gladioli and lavendar ast--vs where they served sandwiches ' ,:H'e cakes. The club will join e Community club at their dinner on "Get Together Day," Satutrday, Octobver 1st. Among the mothers noted at the first session of school on Monday were: Mesdames Johnston, J. G. Weber, We-ber, Haskell, Bybee and Grey. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Rohn were Salt Lake visitors last week. Silage cutting is still occupying the attention of dairy owners, several of our ranchers are very enthusiastic over their fine yield of corn this fall. MINERSVILLE Miss Olive Roberts is visiting at Fillmore for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Bernar Beaumont of California have been the guests of Mrs. Beaumont's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Potter. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Banks and daughter's Audrey and Lucille of Caliente, Nevada spent the week-end here. Mrs. Othello Smith spent the weekend week-end at Salt Lake City. Miss Elva Hall departed Wednesday Wednes-day for Logan where she will attend the Utah State Agricultural College. Mrs. Clara Evans of Stockton is here visiting relatives. Mrs. Jack Dotson and daughters of Las Vegas, Nevada, is here with relatives. re-latives. George Marshall made a business trip to Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Warren Griffith and son of Beaver spent last week here at the Cyrus Bradfield home. Miss Melba James is attending school at the Dixie College of St. George. Mrs. Alta Bonner and family of Nada spent the week-end here with relatives. A. 0. Hardy made a business trip to Panguitch Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Johnson and daughters Miriam and Darlene of Stockton, are here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schwab and children of Beaver were in town Saturday. Sat-urday. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Isaacson and family have returned here after Trending the summer in northern TTtnh. Mr. Isaacson is the music in--rrrctor at the high school. Relief Society convention was hj d here Sunday afternoon in the Relief Society Hall, three members of the stake board were present. The stake Sunday school convention conven-tion was held here Sunday afternoon officers and teachers of the different wards in the stake were in attendance. attend-ance. The opening M. I. A. social was held here Tuesday evening. A program, pro-gram, and dancing were the main features. ADAMSVILLE Claud Parkinson of Pintura was in town Saturday. Mrs. Wilford Johnson and little sons returned home Sunday morning I from a trip to Salt Lake where theyl have been visiting for the past two. weeks with relatives, while there they visited part of the time at Cen-terville Cen-terville with Mrs. Johnson's mother and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Meters of Salt Lake City are here for a few days visit at the Johnson ranch. Monday Mrs. Stell Merchant and Mrs. Orrin Puffer called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Larsen. Four young couples of Aberdare and Adamsville attended a party Saturday Sat-urday night at Manderfield at the home of Linda Munford. Mr. and Mrs. John Gunn entertained entertain-ed a crowd of little folks at a birthday birth-day party for their little son Byron Friday afternoon at their home, the event being his 7th birthday anniversary. anniver-sary. Mrs. Richard Davidson and two children, of Los Angeles, have been visiting Mrs. Davidson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bohn. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Bird spent a few days visiting friends in Beaver as they were enroute to their home in California. Miss Ruby Stoddard is back with her friends dn Beaver. Mrs. Nettie Painter and her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Knops of Bakersfield, California, who have been visiting relatives in Beaver Beav-er the past week, returned home Wednesday. Mrs. Painter came to be with her father, Wm. Anderson on his 90th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Benar Beaumont who have been spending the past ten days in Beaver and Minersville left for their home at Sutter Creek Caliornia Monday morning. Professor Cannon Thompson arrived ar-rived in Beaver Sunday afternoon to commence his work in the Beaver high. Mr. and Mrs. Miles White and children returned to their home at Delta Saturday after spending a week visiting in Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Harland Goodwin and baby spent Sunday visiting at Minersville. Min-ersville. They attended the ball game between Milford and Minersville which ended in victory for the Minersville Min-ersville nine 14 to 7. Miss Lurena Burridge, accompanied accompan-ied by her mother, Mrs. Mollie Far- rer, Mrs. Susie Murdock, Jlrs. Wallace Wal-lace Murdock, Claudie and McKay Farrer spent last week-end in Cedar guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Thompson. Thomp-son. Chloe Boyter, Christine Patterson and Vera Tanner spent Saturday in Milford shopping. Miss Zola Fernley left Saturday for Milford where she will teach in the high school the tomincr winter. Mr. and Mrs. Othel Pearce and small son Dickie, of Richfield, arrived arriv-ed Monday for a short visit with Mr. Pearce's mother, Mrs. Lottie Pearce. Miss Gail Johnson of Salina, and Miss Marcraret Thurman, of Salt Lake, two local high school teachers are rooming and boarding with Miss Lurena Burridcre for the winter. Miss Fanny Draper of Salt Lake is house guest of her friend Lurena Burridire for three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Roysl Kimball spent from Friday until Sunday at Fillmore Fill-more gue.-ts of relatives. |
