Show NEWS ITEMS OF SOUTH MILFORD Mr. and Mrs. R. Kendall Thomas and daughter, Frances,! of Salt Lake, were guests at the i Cates home recently. Theyl also spent some time viewing our southern Utah parks. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Hanchett have returned from a visit with relatives at Fish Lake and Richfield. Rich-field. They had several severe experiences with floods and cloudbursts. The dance at the Clubhouse, sponsored by the Fair committee, commit-tee, proved a great drawing card for the young people who seemed to have an excellent time. The Milford Orchestra donated their entire force for the music of the evening and never played better, we feel sure. Mrs. Harold Sautter entertained enter-tained last Thursday afternoon for her guest, Miss Katherine Robinson. Bridge furnished the diversion for the ladies and the honor prize went to Miss Robinson. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served by the hostess host-ess to close a pleasant party. The invited guests were Mes-dames Mes-dames Cook, F. B. Robinson, Gospill, Bybee, Sloan, Hartell, Cates, Weber, and Hanchett, Madam Bybee, and Misses Gospill, Gos-pill, and Lucille and Kendall Franke. Jess Cook and younger brothers broth-ers motored to Cedar City for the rodeo held there. Seed cutting has begun on the Flat. The yield, generally is very light but is expected to pay as well, or better, than to be cut as hay. Mrs. Carrie Maud, mother of Mrs. C. G. Haskell, left Friday for her home in Austin, Texas. Mrs. Maud has spent a month here and her friends are sorry of so short a stay. Jacob Fauth left last week for Lorra Linda, Calif., to remain at the sanitarium there, for the winter. The flood, waters in the river bed on the evening of the Fair, did some small damage to residents resi-dents here, but also furnished a thrilling spectacle to many people who drove out to see the swirling waters. It was estimated esti-mated that 1,100 second feet of water passed through during the flood crest. The Telluride Power Co. deserves de-serves the thanks of the entire community for the splendid equipment they installed for our comfort and pleasure at the electric fans, as well as exten-Fair. exten-Fair.
