Show r ! GRADUATES OF AMERICAN COLLEGES America a land of extremes has been accused of producing pro-ducing extremes in types of students. On the one hand we find the fraternity man with the hip flask, the "collegiate." This is the picture painted by reformers. On the other side we see the "grind" with spectacles and musty books. These are the two popular conceptions of college grads. These are the pictures which are painted to the general public. But there must be a happy medium. Our brothers and cousins who become doctors and lawyers and fanners are neither of these types. . College graduates are not typical. There is no set mold. Do not be deluded into thinking so. The graduates who become be-come modern business men are not such creatures as people peo-ple would have us believe. It is time that the American public is educated to the meaning of college graduate and not deluded by the terms 'collegiate.' |
