Show ENCAMPMENT TO BE HELD JULY 15-18 RULES ANNOUNCED FOR JUDGING CONTEST Rules for the teams entering the dairy products judging contest at the Farmers' Encampment, July 15-18, have just been prepared and issued by Professor George B. Caine, dairy specialist for the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College. According to Professor Pro-fessor Caine, the contesting teams ' - will judge the quality and market grade of butter, cheese, milk and Manilla ice cream. Four samples of each product shall be scored and criticized. The contest will be held at held at Logan, and the rules are as follows: fol-lows: 1. Each county, will be entitled to enter one team, consisting of three members from that county. 2. Each contestant shall report to - --' - the superintendent of the contest at such time and place as may be announced. an-nounced. He will then be assigned a number and given such instructions as the superintendent may deem necessary. nec-essary. 3. The contestants shall be divided into groups, each consisting of not more than one member of each team. 4. No contestant shall be allowed to take any notebook or writing paper in the contest, . except such cards as are provided by the superintendent superin-tendent of the contest. The superintendent superin-tendent of the contest shall furnish cards on which each contestant may keep a record of his scores and criticisms criti-cisms for his own use. 6. While the contest is in progress there shall be no communication between be-tween contestants and any one else, except as directed by the superintendent superin-tendent or his representatives, and then only in the presence of the superintendent. 6. The time allowance shall be ten minutes for each product with a five minute rest period between products. 7. The superintendent shall set out the representative samples of each product, showing good, medium, and poor quality, with the judges scores and criticisms attached. The contestant contest-ant shall have access to these samples sam-ples ten minutes, just previous to the scoring of the contest samples and then only. Standard score cards will be used in judging the dairy products. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the judging contest. |
