Show BOARD RAISES ANTE ON HANGING ROCK Meeting this week, the Board of County Commissioners raised the yearly license fee required to operate a country dance pavilion from the sum of one hundred dollars to an annual an-nual fee of six hundred dollars. This act affects but one dance pavilion, Hanging Rock, operated for the past few seasons by Wallace Outzen, it being the only one in the county. Mr. Outzen, who lives on a tract of land near the 'Rock', where he is engaged in farm work, stated that he had no other plans but to continue con-tinue the season through as he had planned. The outdoor dance season usually lasts until the fore part of September. It is not known whether the ruling of the county board is to become immediately im-mediately effective, or not-t Hanging Rock is the rendezvous for practically all of the dancing crowd of the county. The usual schedule of dance nights is Wednesday Wednes-day and Saturdays. It is not attempted attempt-ed to conduct public dances in Milford Mil-ford during the Hanging Rock season. sea-son. Beaver has summer dances at the Legion hall at that place, but they have been said to have been very unsuccessful this season. |
