Weber and Walter Weber We-ber families with Miss Ethel Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stanley held a picnic in Beaver canyon last Sunday with Mrs. Joseph Weber of Los Angeles as honor g-uest. Mrs. Weber departed for her home Sunday Sun-day evening via the Pickwick Stages fi'om Beaver. Miss Ellen Rowlands left on Saturday Sat-urday afternoon for her home in Santa San-ta Monica, Calif., after spending two months as the guest of her cousin, Mrs. C. A. Rohn. The third cutting of alfalfa is being be-ing harvested. The crop will be light in most instances, but bills fair to be of excellent quality. Theodore Farnum, of Buffalo, N. Y. Was a guest of Eldon Cates last Friday. Fri-day. Mr. Farnum is returning from a motor tour of Yellowstone Park, the Painted desert and our Southern Parks. W. W. Cook is seriously ill at his home. The family, including Mrs. Bessie Snyder, of Las Vegas, Nev., who arrived on Monday, have all been summoned to his bedside. The speed exhibited by the owners own-ers of stray cattle and horses, in getting them out of the pound, attest at-test to the ability as well as the need of our new constable, Charles Thomas. (Too late for last week) Mrs. Joseph Weber of Los Angeles is visiting her sons, the Messrs J. G. and Walter Weber. Miss Katherine Smithson, of Mil-forVl, Mil-forVl, was a guest of the W. C. Cates family at a picnic dinner at McCune cabin last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Livergood joined the party in the afternoon. H. B. Waters, of Salt Lake, .manager .man-ager of the Telluride Power company, with the Hon. W. C. Cates, conducted a large group of farmers from Fountain Foun-tain Green and Moroni, over the entire en-tire pumping district Wednesday. Harold Sautter left on Friday for Salt Lake where he joined Judge Ben Johnson on a motor trip through the San Juan Basin. County Agent Lew Mar Price with Dr. A. C. Hogansen of U. A. C. and Federal Inspector John Blaziard spent Saturday afternoon on the flat. The Social Hour club was delightfully delight-fully entertained on the beautiful lawn at the home of Mrs. J. G. Weber We-ber last Thuikday afternoon. The tim was spent with needle work and social chat. Delicious refreshments consisting of home made ice cream and cake with punch were served at small tables on the lawn to a large number, Mrs. Charles Thomas assisting assist-ing the hostess in serving. Mrs. Joseph Weber of Los Angeles was a guest of the club. The next meeting will be held at the club house on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 3, with Mesdames Horace Palmer, Adam Patterson as hostesses. |
