Show FIRST WHITE CHILD BORN IN UTAH VISITS OLD CAPITAL BLDG. Mrs. Elizabeth Steele Stapley, is the first white child born in Utah. She was ;born August 9, 1847, just five days after her parents arrived here. She visited the old State House Museum at Fillmore last week and viewed the pioneer relics with great enthusiasm. There are relics of her own family on exhibit there, and a case devoted to John Steele who was very prominent in southern Utah from about 1853 on for many years. Mrs. Stapley lives now in Hurricane.
