Show j SOCIETY Entertains Two Clubs at Bridge I Mrs. Jack Thiessen entertained i members of her two bridge clubs at j her home last Thursday. Prize winners win-ners of the card play of the two clubs were: Mrs. Alvin Baker, high points; Mrs. M. A. Cowley, high hon-: hon-: ors; Mrs. Rue Neilsen, consolation; Mrs. Joe Murdock, high points and Mrs. Wm. Fernley, honors. A dainty two-course luncheon was served to Mesdames Murdock, Fern-ley, Fern-ley, Moore, Sloan, Neilsen, Cowley, Farmer, Kirk, Hickman, Schow and Baker. Mrs. Sadie Jones Entertains Mjrs. Sadie Jones entertained a number of friends Sunday evening. Five Hundred was played with Abe Fotheringham making high score, and L. A. Wynaught, low score. At midnight, a delicious lunch was served which was enjoyed by all. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Dug Fotheringham, Mr. and Mrs. Roy-White, Roy-White, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Fotheringham, Fothering-ham, Mrs. Outzen, Mrs. Ferguson, L. A. Wynaught, Miss Erma Fotheringham, Fothering-ham, and R. E. Ellingsworth. P. H. C. Club Members Guests Mrs. J. C. Smith entertained the P. H. C. club at her home Saturday evening. The evening was spent playing Five Hundred. Mrs. W. O. Carlson won first prize and Mrs. Tex Young, second. A delightful lunch was served to Ardath Outzen, Susie Smith," Emma Ford, Alda Young, Arina Carlson, La Vern Carter and Bertha Hickman. Is Hostess at Bridge Mrs. G. C. Rodgers entertained the M. G. club Wednesday evening at her home. Cards were played with Mrs. L. Waddingham winning high score for points and Mrs. H. F. Chanslor, high score for honors. Those present were Mrs. Jack Thiessen, Mrs. Spence Schow, Mrs. M. P. Lewis, Mrs. J. M. Weston, Mrs. H. F. Chanslor, Mrs. James Paterson, and Mrs. Harry Yeager. Club Meets at Read The Jolly Stitchers met Friday of last week at the home of Mrs. Eb Tanner at Read. Those present were Mr3. Scott Tanner, Mrs. Wm. Miller, Mrs. Fred Levi, Mrs. K. Levi, Mrs. Antone Johnson, Mrs. Dave Tanner, Mrs. Steve Stoker, Mrs. James Lang, and Mrs. J. H. Weston. Mrs. Mattingly Entertains Mrs. Chas. Mattingly entertained the Jolly Nine club at her home Tuesday Tues-day evening. A delicious luncheon was served to the following: Alice Ward, Leah Smith, Alyce Schow, Delia Kirk, Myrtle Osborne and Eva Banks. Saturday Evening Bridge Club Mrs. Chas. Moore entertained the Saturday Evening Bridge club at her home Saturday evening. Dinner was served at 6:30. Those present were i Mesdames C. C. Sloan, Bill Broyles C. R. Parrish, W. P. Morley, George Fernley and Erma Gillies. Mrs. Harry Yeager was the invited guest. Dinner Guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. E. II. Bird had as their dinner guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Eb Tanner, Mr. and Mrs. La Von Bird, Miss Margaret Cochrane, Miss Dorothy Quale, William Cochrane, Robert Tomsik and Clyde Tanner. Entertain Out-of-town Guests Mrs. R. M. Copeland entertained last Saturday evening at a bridge party at her home in honor of Mm. R. Quayle of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. F. Dewey and Mrs. Maurice Johnson, of Caliente. Mrs. Johnson won high score for points and Mrs. E. Smith for honors Those present were Mrs. Bert Price, Mrs. E. Smith, Mrs. A. Smith, Mrs. F. Casterline, Mrs. Fred Levi, Mrs. Wm. Fernley, Mrs. Bernard Hutehins, Mrs. J. Campbell, Camp-bell, Mrs. Wm. Cochrane, and the thre guests of honor. A delightful luncheon was served. Bridge Club at Mrs. Sportsman's Mrs. Charles Sportsman entertained entertain-ed the Wednesday Evening Bridge club on the evening of April 18. High score was won by Mrs. J. E. Hanlon. Luncheon was served to the following: Miesdames J. E. Hanlon, O. Melcher, Joe Hanlon, R. Malstrom, E. Gleason, B. E. Hutehins, Grover Cuddy, and Wm. Stirling. School Affair The Junior-Senior banquet will be held on the evening of April 27, at the Milford Hotel dining room. Entertains at Rocky Ford j Mrs. F. B. Robinson of Rocky Ford entertained at bridge Friday afternoon after-noon in her own delightful manner. Afi'r playing cards, delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served to the following guests: Mesdames Wilcox, James, Miller, Stanley, Bybee, Gospill, Weber, Madam Bybee, Miss Gladys Gospill, and little Alice Bybee. To Hold Outing The annual high school outing will be held at Rock Corral on the 4th of May. Birthday Party for Niece Mrs. John Killam gave a birthday party Sunday afternoon for her little five-year-old niece, Shirley Mae Leudtke. About twenty children were present. Dainty refreshments were served late in the afternoon. Shirley and her mother, Mrs. Fred Leudtke, are visiting here from Los Angeles. Senior Hop Soon The Senior Hop will be given at the Arion Hall Saturday, May 5th. |
