Show RECOMMENDS NEW AUT0MB1LE CLUB BOOSTS BONNEVILLE AUTO CLUB AS AN ASSET TO MILFORD Sam Cline has been offered the post of director of the Bonneville Auto y .. - Club, a newly created state-wide or-' or-' ganization. In all, there are to be twenty-five directors, ten of whom will be selected from Salt Lake City ... and Ogden, and the balance chosen from outlying districts. Mr. Cline is disposed to believe that this new organization will make for better roads in southern Utah and in addition, that Milford and other towns situated on the Pikes Peak Ocean-to-Ocean Highway will get a better deal than formerly has been passed out. At a meeting of the Lions club this week, Mr. Cline urged that as an organization, or-ganization, or individually, Milford business men should get behind the new club. He stated that the balance of power in directing the club's acti vities will not lie with Utah's largest larg-est cities, and although he was not certain whether to accept a directorship director-ship or not, he felt that Milford should have a representative on the board of control. In profiting by mistakes made by other automobile groups, , Mr. Cline stated that the new club will not likely seek to route all tourist tour-ist traffic straight west out of Salt Lake City, but will aim to bring into more prominence the southern part of the state. The club will be so organized as to resemble the Automobile Club of Southern California, the greatest of its kind in the world. The same service ser-vice to members will be provided, with the exception that the club will! not write insurance, but will place that work in the hands of Lloyd's In-termountain. In-termountain. Towing service will be provided, and protection secured as much as possible against undue activities acti-vities of small-town law in 'speed traps.' Official garages and hotels will be designated, which according to Mr, Cline, will mean some good advertis-. ing for Milford. j . j |
