Show BENJAMIN LEWIS SR. DIES AT CIRCLEVILLE Ben Lewi Jr. returned last week from Circleville where he was called by the death of his father, Benjamin Lewis, Sr. a pioneer of Utah and a one time resident of Minersville. Mr. Lewis died at the age of 73 years after a life spent in southern Utah. He was born in 1858 in Parowan Valley, Val-ley, spent part of his childhood in Minersville, and later in life returned to live a year in the vicinity of Milford. Mil-ford. He came of circleville in 1878 wTiere he married Henrietta Pearson and where his sons, Benjamin Lewis, Jr. of Milford and Grover C. Lewis of Circleville were born. After Henrietta's Henriet-ta's death, he married Alice Thomas who bore him four daughters and one son. Services were held for him January 4 in the L. D. S. Chapel in Circleville and two outstanding speakers, President Presi-dent Wilford Day of Parowan and Elder Allen C. Reynolds paid tribute to the Utah pioneer. He is survived by his sons and daughters, Ben Lewis, Jr. of Milford, Grover C. Lewis of Circleville, Earl Lewis of Circleville, Mrs. C. W. Alger of Midvale, Mrs. Jesse Johnson of Salt Lake, Mrs. J. Barney of Richfield and MJiss Olive Lewis of Circleville. |
