Show PAST (T.'R POV.'ER TO DESCRIBE Like many people who live near-at-hand to scenic wonders, to which people travel from all over the world, we have been living within a few hours' drive of the southern Utah parks and until last week end had never made the trip over to view them. We were well repaid for the trip and now we wonder why we hadn't gone before. In describing Bryce's Canyon Can-yon and Cedar Breaks, it would be just as well to say "very nice" as to attempt to give them full justice rhetorically. A master of words would not be able to give a good description of these two wonderlands of nature. ,It was not through foresight but only chance that we chose to see Bryce's first, going by way of Cove Fort and Panguitch, and then up to Cedar Breaks and down into Cedar City via the long, steep canyon road. People Peo-ple driving from Milford to see these two parks will go well to drive the loop from Bryce's to Cedar, rather than the other way around. The ascent from road 89. up to Cedar Breaks is much easier than from Cedar City eastward. There are other beautiful sights, other than these ' two parks, which are seldom mentioned because they are overwhelmed by the grandeur of Bryce's and Cedar Breaks. We are refering to Red Canyon, just this side of Bryce's, and the rocky, narrow gorge through which one passes in riding from the Breaks down to Cedar City. These two lesser attractions alone are worth the trip. |
