Show o WHY MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE Once more the time has arrived for ordering baby chicks, and it is to be hoped that our poultry raisers profit by the mistakes of last year. Thousands of "cheap" baby chicks were shipped into this community and almost invariable they turned out to be expensive ex-pensive after they were put into the laying house. It has been demonstrated that baby chicks cannot endure more than 24 hours without feed and care. Those coming from long distances that do survive are weaklings and never mature as fast or as well as those which have not been exposed, to long distant dis-tant shipment. Whenever possible, poultrymen should patronize Utah hatcheries. hatch-eries. This enables them to inspect the breeding stock, get an accurate egg-laying record, and safeguard themselves against j introducing disease into their flocks. It is also wise to remember that a home hatchery sells to friends and neighbors and depends on repeat business to live and grow. They absolutely cannot afford af-ford to sell anything but quality chicks. |
