Show S7TH BIRTHDAY HONORED BY SNAKE VALLEY PIONEER Wednesday, December 2nd, marked mark-ed the 87th anniversary of Mrs. H. Gandy, one of the early settlers of Snake Valley, and the oldest of those remaining. The occasion was fittingly observed observ-ed in the way of a well appointed surprise luncheon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Stella Schumacher, Schumach-er, at Garrison. Those present including includ-ing two other daughters, Mrs. E. M. Smith and Mrs. Jas. H. Robinson, with their husbands, and also Mr. and Mrs. Geo. S. Robinson and Mr. and. Mrs. E. W. Clay, all being old friends of the honor guest, as well as early settlers here themselves. Mrs. Gandy, despite her 87 summers sum-mers ,is still bright of eye and clear of mind ,and her memory hearkens back to crinoline days as tho it were yesteryear. Stories were told, old days recalled and re-lived, and the gathering proved most convivial, so that when the time came for departure depar-ture all the guests expi-essed the hope that each and everyone would be present at the same occasion, and observe it in the same way for many years to come. i- |
