Show LEGION DISTRICT CONVENTION TO BE HELD IN MILFORD Eight Posts of Southern Utah Will Convene in This City on Saturday and Sunday, December De-cember 19 and 20 At a meeting of the Executive committee of the Seven District the i American Legion held here on De- i cember sixth the invitation of Milford Mil-ford to be the host to the Legion- ' nairs and the Auxiliary of the seventh sev-enth district was unanimously accepted ac-cepted by the committee and the date of the convention was fixed as December De-cember nineteen and twentieth. The seventh district comprises eight posts of southern Utah and their Auxiliary units and from the enthusiasm shown by the representatives representa-tives of these posts who were present pre-sent at the committee meeting, Milford Mil-ford can expect them all to be well represented at the convention. The Depart ment commander, George S. Ballif of Provo will be a speaker at the convention and other department officers are also expected to be here including the Department Adjutant Otto A. Weisley of Salt Lake City. A splendid program has been ar- j ranged by the program commttee. Convention sessions will start at two p. m. on December 19th in the High School Auditorium and will be followed fol-lowed by a banquet at the Union Pacific Pa-cific dining room for Legion and Auxiliary members and their partners. part-ners. Legionnaire Larsen, manager of the Union Pacific dining room, has this banquet in charge and he says to tell the boys not to bring their mess kits as he is going to serve it hot with all the trimmings. The charge will be a dollar a plate. Phone write or wire in your reservations reserva-tions for the banquet to John Coffeen. Cof-feen. The time of the banquet will ; be 7 p. m. so be on time. The dance j which will start at 9:30 p. m. is in I charge of the American Legion Aux- j iliary of Milford. During the even- j ing three food boxes will be given ! away to the ones holding the lucky 1 raffle tickets. These boxes are now on display in Mrs. Kelley's window on Main street and are filled with many good things. The merchants of Milford are being be-ing asked to decorate their places of : business for this convention and everybody is urged to make the Legions Le-gions stay in Milford enjoyable in ' every way. j n |
