Show "RECEIVES SHIPMENT OF SILVER SALMON THOUSANDS OF FISH WILL BE PLANTED IN PUFFER LAKE B-tween forty and fifty thousand silver salmon were shipped into Milford Mil-ford Wednesday. The shipment came from the hatcheries at Springville and were received here by District Game Warden Cyrus Davis and Joe Skinner. Skin-ner. The fish came in twenty-five milk cans, were loaded on a truck, and taken away to be planted later in Puffer Lake. These salmon finger-lings finger-lings are said to grow to a size of three pounds in two years time. Game Warden Davis has recently-planted recently-planted thirty thousand German brown trout in Beaver county waters,, and has seven hundred and fifty thousand brook and rainbow trout yet to be disposed of. The trout fishing season opens the fifteenth of June and closes the last of -October. According to Mr. Davis, the season should open three months earlier. The reason for this, he says, is because that in mid-summer the waters become warmled and the trout become soft. Interest is being aroused in opening the trout season earlier, and sportsmen will attempt to influence law-makers at the next legislature to legalize earlier fishing. |
