Alkali washing powders, strong soap, or too much water, will ruin even the best linoleums. , Some months present so much heavier cash expense than others, it i.s well to look ahead and provide if possible for these periods. This removes the element ele-ment of guesswork . and gives the same results every time. ' ' When making jelly, the most satisfactory satis-factory proportions, with few exceptions, excep-tions, are three-fourths of a cup of sugar to one cup of juice. Iron rust stains on white materials often respond to lemon juice. Spread the sVuned place over a vessel of actively, boiling water and then squeeze lemon juice on the stain. After Af-ter a few minutes, rinse the, fabric and repeat. Don't put shoes on a baby until he is ready to try walking. The plan of cooking these greens in several waters wa-ters is not recommended because of the valuable mineral matter is thrown away, vitamins are destroyed, and the greens are overcooked. . Raw dandelion leaves or those cooked without with-out water are les bitter than those that have been boiled. BIGGER AND BETTER BUBBLES Children find so much .delight in blowing bubblies that is a real pleasure plea-sure to pass this suggestion - on to mothers. A drop or two of glycerine added to the soapy water will make the bubblers rainbow hued and they will sail across the room without breaking. ' |
