Mexi-can. Lang's body was found by Mike Mendizaval, livestock man, in the brush about twenty-five miles south east of Jiggs in Elko County. A cor-onor's cor-onor's jury found, when an inquest was held on the range, that Lang came to his death from a gun shot wound inflicted by Archulita who is lodg'ed in the Elko county jail, charged charg-ed with first degree murder: Lang was a camp tender for a livestock live-stock outfit. Archulita's refusal to take orders from him resulted in the herder's being fired by the boss of the flutfit and the shooting presumably presum-ably followed. The murdered man was 42 years old, and a native of Beaver. He resided re-sided at Buckhorn for a number of years, and married Hilda Jones, of Parowan, who died about fifteen years ago, and has two daughters, Nina 17 and Norine 15, who live with their grandmother, Sarah Jones, in Parowan. A few years ago he married mar-ried a Mrs. Caffall, of Sevier county, and moved back to Beaver, where they built a home across the street from the high school building. The couple separated a couple of years ago, Mrs. Lang going to Provo to reside re-side while Mr. Lang went to Nevada where he since has been employed. The remains were taken to Parago-nah Parago-nah for burial. The deceased had filled fill-ed a two year mission for the L. D. S. church in Georgia and was otherwise active in church affairs. He is survived sur-vived by his father, John Lang of St. George and a brother Parley of the same place, also a brother William of Salt Lake City and five sisters. |
