Show PICNIC AT ZION PARK TURNS INTO TRAGEDY A picnic party in Zion National Park yesterday was turned to tragedy trage-dy when Alvin Brooksby, 35, instructor in-structor in the Orderville school, was instantly killed and four or five pupils pu-pils injured, two of them, Eugene Russell and Leo Stevens, quite seriously. seri-ously. The pupils and instructors of the Orderville school were holding an outing in the canyon, and a group of ' ' y the boys were playing under the cable ca-ble that in years past has been used to lower lumber, some of the boys hanging onto the cable while others were pulling them back and forth. In some way an iron was worked loose from the top, sliding down the cable and striking into the crowd, no one having seen it before it struck. The iron struck Brooksby first, hitting hit-ting him on the head and killing him i j instantly, then went through the balance of the crowd, breaking the arm and collar bone of Eugene Russell Rus-sell and cutting his face, and lacerating lacer-ating the skull of Leo Stevens, several sev-eral of the other boys receiving bruises and cuts but none of them serious.
