Show THE REBIRTH OF A NATION When business is bad, in any city or town, the local Chamber of Cmmerce, and business organizations should organize the "Hometown Refinance Gold Corporation" to take hold of one or more illaces where nature has deposited large tonnages of gold ore, develop it, equip it with machinery and make it into a mine, for mines are made, not found. This will build depression proof incomes for the home town people. When they have money to spend, business will improve and the depression, in your town, will be over, writes Letson Balliet in the Mineral Survey. This advice- is especially applicable in Beaver county. In the mineral zone running nearly the entire length of the eastern side of the county is gold-bearing quartz, and numerous shallow mines which have produced gold in paying quantities in past years, i Many of these mines would become rich producers if developed. I Instead of waiting for outside capital, a "Hometown Refinance Corporation," could start the wheels of industry in our own county. coun-ty. Eliminate the stock-promotor, run the corporation on a basin of economical production. Every business man and individual in the county could secure an interest. There are hundreds of unemployed un-employed miners ready to work for small pay, sufficient to feed their families, and obtain an interest in the corpoi'ation. This country, has to mine its gold or fail. Low grade gold is mined in Africa, Alaska, and other countries. Have they any more brains and ability in distant countries than we have in the United States? Mining in foreign countries is encouraged and financed. It is recognized as necessary to the perpetuation of business. It equips enormous plants to produce and handle tlu-ee, five or ten tons per minute. In this country gold mining, is knocked and discredited, dis-credited, until those who wish to mine, are forced to confine their attention to rich spots, and by selective mining produce a few tons a day, ignoring the large tonnages of low grade ores that would pay the national debt, and stop the interest on the tax exempt ex-empt bonds. |
