Show FIRE TAKES TOLL OF 1000 CHICKENS Eleven hundred laying hens and pullets, a modern coop, a granary containing 150 bushels of wheat and oats, and a garage, owned by Ross A. Peterson, were totally destroyed by fire last Thursday morning. The loss, which is estimated at about $4,000, was covered by insurance of $2,200. The origin o the fire has not as yet been determined. It started start-ed in the granary, it is thought, and spread rapidly to the garage and then to the coops, where the chickens chick-ens were kept. While the buildings were wired for electricity, Mr. Peterson Pet-erson declared that the fire could not have originated from that source as special attention had been given to the installation of heavily insulated wires.
