Show AT MILFORD'S CHURCHES (This paper will be glad to publish from week to week such church notes as may be brought to the News office for publication,) CHRISTIAN SCIENCE "Life" was the subject of the lesson sermon at all Christian Science churches, Sunday, January 19. The Golden Text was from John 5-24: "Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word and be-ieveth be-ieveth in him that sent me, hath everlasting ever-lasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from ...ath unto life." Among the citations which comprised com-prised the lesson sermon was the following fol-lowing from the bible And it shall come to pass that before they call 1 will answer; and while they are speaking, speak-ing, I will hear. Isa-65,24-25. The Lesson Sermon also included the following pasage from the Christian Christ-ian Science textbook, Science and Health, with key to the scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: Some tables of birth and death are so many conspiracies against manhood man-hood and womanhood. Except for the error of measuring and limiting all that is good and beautiful, man would enjoy more than three score years and ten and still maintain his vigor. METHODIST The first special service for the New Year, held January 12, was very well attended and appreciated. Last Sunday, the Methodist church offered its second Special Service. Rev. Root presented a very unusual 'Picture Sermon'. Three musical numbers were on the program. The cause of world service was presented in the Sunday' School. Hours of Worship 10:00. a., m. Sunday School. ,11:00 a. m. Morning Worship. 7:30 p. m. Evening Worship. Sanctuary Service Thursdays, 7:30 p. m. v ' L. D. S. Sunday School 10:00 a. m. Evening Services 7:30 p. m. Young People's Mutuals Tuesday evenings at 7:30. There will be a ward reunion next , Monday night at the Milford chapel at about 8 o'clock. The affair is un. der the auspices of the Mutuals. The Y. P. M. I. A. is preparing tc give a play, the tentative cast foi . which has been selected and has com-i com-i menced rehearsals. Miss Bernict j Quinney is coaching the cast. |
