Show LIONS TO OPEN POOL ON DECORATION DAY PLAN IMPROVEMENTS Swimming enthusiasts will greet Decoration day with especial pleasure this year as May 30 has been set for the opening of the Lions swimming pool. At a meeting of the pool committee held at one o'clock yesterday at Hub-bell's Hub-bell's Drug Store the date for the opening was determined and plans for imporvements to be made in the interim inter-im were completed. The pool is to have two coats of water proof cement paint the committee commit-tee decided. The bath houses are to be re-shingled and painted inside and out. The entire plant is to be done in white both for attractiveness and cleanliness. A new six-inch, five horse power pump is to be installed so that plenty of water will be available as frequently as is necessary. The pool is to be drained twice a week and the stale water will be used to irrigate the lawn of the American Legion park. To insure sanitary conditions, the water of the pool is to be chlorat-ed. chlorat-ed. Final arrangements made at the meeting of the committee was the approval ap-proval of LaVar Vorhees as care taker tak-er of the poor for the coming season. The swimming' pool committee is made up of Sam and Harold Cline, O. C. Koch, George Jeerson, O. F. Hubbell, Hub-bell, R. E. Ellingsworth, Dr. Charles R. Parrish and Clifford Cook. |
