Show PENNEY JMANAGER ATTENDS ,.GQNVENTION M. H. Pool, manager of the local J. C. Penney Co. left Sunday to attend at-tend the Spring convention of the organization now being held at Og-den, Og-den, Utah. Headquarters of the convention con-vention are at the Bigelow Hotel and the meeting will continue for one week. Special interest is being paid to the convention meetings this year owing to the attendance of George H. Bushnell, fprmer 1st vice-president of the J. C. Penney Co., who resigned from this position in order that . he might be relieved of the responsibilities of the office which he has occupied for the past ten years. Lew V. Day, first vice-president of the J. C Penney Co is chairman of J the convention at Ogden, which is the first in a series of 16 such meetings meet-ings to cover the Eastern, Central and Western sections of the country, the Western division being scheduled schedul-ed for five meetings. The first day of the sessions were devoted to the presentation of the policies of the organiation, a general discussion of future plans and a resume re-sume of the past year. The balance of the week is being devoted to buying in the various, departments, de-partments, representatives of the New York and St. Louis general offices of-fices being , present to exhibit the various lines of merchandise which will be shown. On Monday evening, the opening day, there was a banquet at the Bigelow Bige-low Hotel at which Mr. Bushnell was the guest of honor. |
