STATE INSTITUTION It has long been conceded that Box Elder county has a very good chance to obtain the state institution to care for the feeble minded people now confined con-fined at the mental hospital at Provo, a system that is considered consid-ered a disgrace to the state of Utah. The last session of the legislature 'provided the way for his new home for these helpless creatures and a committee com-mittee was appointed to purchase pur-chase the site and then the building commission is authorized author-ized to proceed with the erection erec-tion of the buildings. Other counties of the state are after this plum. It has been stated, however, that it will not be placed at a point further north than Brigham City or further south than Provo- It is admitted too, that both Cache and Weber counties are favorable to this state institution in-stitution coming to Box Elder county. - It is further admitted that Cache, Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties are Avell supplied with state institutions; that Brigham City is an ideal location from several standpoints stand-points for this institution and therefore more local interest should be manifested in this matter. Secretary of State MDton li-Welling li-Welling is from Box Elder county. Senator Tracy Welling, Representatives Lucinda Jensen Jen-sen and Horace Richards, the Brigham Chamber of Commerce Com-merce and others could and should be working in harmony to obtain this institution for Box Elder county.
