Show MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE IN UTAH FOR 1929 Washington, D. C, July 3, 1930. The Department of Commerce announces an-nounces that, according to the returns re-turns received, there were 6,286' marriages performed in Utah during the year 1929, as compared with 5,844 in 1928, representing an increase in-crease of 442 or 7.6 per cent. During the year 1929, there were 1,016 divorces granted in the state, as compared with 1,022 in 1928, representing re-presenting a decrease of 6 or six-tenths six-tenths of one per cent. There were 18 marriages annulled in 1929. as compared with 31 in 1928. The estimated population of the state of Utah on July 1, 1929, was 540,000,-and on July 1, 1928, 531,-000. 531,-000. On the basis of these estimates, estimat-es, the number of marriages per 1,-000 1,-000 of the population was 11.6 in 1929, as against 11.0 in 1928; and the number of divorces per 1,000 of the population was 1.88 inl929, as against 1.92 in 1928.
