Show MILFORD CLUB GETS DISTRICT HONORS i :.S REWARDED FOR ! ITS PROMOTION OF BIG IMPROVEMENTS Of thirty-seven Lion clubs in the rtuh-I'J:iho district, Milford tied for 'irst place with Mt. Pleasant in the mportance of local projects accom-ili.shed accom-ili.shed in l!i28. This announcement .vas made at the annual convention of Lions clubs, held Saturday at Mid-vale. Mid-vale. A silk banner was given to each club as a trophy. Of chief importance among the labors of tho Milford club were its efforts in securing the section of pavement in town; the ornamental lighting of the business section; and the zeal shown in aiding the Department Depart-ment of Commerce to obtain a good air field for Milford. Mt. Pleasant's claims to distinction came from a mile-long stretch of pavement through their city and tb-taining tb-taining improvements in its sewage system. The convention at Midvale was attended at-tended by seven Milford Lions and j four ladies. The Milford delegation ranked second in traveling the farthest farth-est distance to attend the meeting. ( The convention in 1930 will be held j at Pocatello, Idaho. |
