MERCHANT -STOCK-S MAN MESSAGE OF 90 ; Ebenezer Tanner Closes Long And Useful Career at Home in Nephi Ebenezer Tanner, 90, well known business and stockman in the early history of Milford, died at his home in Nephi, May 18, following a several weeks illness from infirmatives incident inci-dent to old age. Mr. Tanner was born in England, March 6, 1842, and was brought to Utah by his parents when a boy. After ser-ving as a guide to transcontinental trans-continental pioneers, he settled at Milford, where he was a merchant and stock-raiser. During his years at Milford he served as Beaver county coun-ty commissioner and in other public capacities. He was married to Mary Ann Big-ler Big-ler of Nephi, September 19, 1868, in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City. The couple spent the majority of their married life in Milford and Holden, living the past twenty-seven years in Nephi, where Mr. Tanner engaged in business and stockraising. He had for the past few years, operated op-erated an ice business in Nephi. He is survived by his widow, seven sons and daughters: Ebenezer and D. A. Tanner, Milford; Jacob T. Tanner, Tan-ner, Beaver; James E. Tanner, Price, Abner Tanner, Provo; Mrs. LaVern Ellison Nephi and Mrs. Flossie Winn, Preston, Idaho. Also 39 grandchildren grandchild-ren and 23 great grand children survive. |
