Show WARD CAR BATTERS PITCHFORTH'S BARN UNOCCUPIED AUTO COASTS DOWN HILL W HITTING BUILDING Harry Ward met with a peculiar automobile accident Monday afternoon. after-noon. Fortunately, as his car was completely unoccupied, no one was hurt. Harry left his car, a Studebakar coach, in front of the E. H. Bird home, while he went in to see the bishop. In some manner, the brakes became released, and the car started to coast, gathering speed as it traveled. As it got near the foot of the hill, it was going with such velocity vel-ocity that it went right through Carl Pitchforth's barn. The auto pushed its nose into the barn in such fashion that the board sides of the building were bulged out as to almost hide the front half of 'the car. The Studebaker came off best in the encounter as the only damage sustained sus-tained by it was a broken radiator cap, while the whole side of the barn was knocked loose. |
