Show MOVE MADE TO IMPROVE ROADS This week members of the town board of Milford met with the county commissioners of Beaver county in the hope of securin;; : county road tax levy, the immoda te benefits to Milford to he in the in proving of the side roads on all directions of the town. Due to the building up of our farm project in South Milford, the roads through the fh ts find about as much use as the highway from Minersville. The town board is backed back-ed in its request by a lesolution passed pass-ed by the Milford Lions club, urging ! the county to put the roads leading into Milford into first -.'lass shape. Another move for the benefit of the motorist is the gradual'y growing desire de-sire on the part of people in the county to have the bridges on the P. P. O. O. highway between here and Beaver widened and re-floored. Some of the bridges have been a source of .worry to drivers as they only permit one car to pass over them at a time and several near collisions have re- j suited. Another mark of local improvement : not under discussion but done, was 'the setting up of welcome signs at the approach to the town. These were put up by the Lions club and ! while they were not necessarily an ! aid to the tourist, they convey the 'impression of hospitality, which while 'prevalent in Milford, was not pointed j out before. |
