Show MAN-MADE STATIC The city of Wallace, Idaho, enacts an ordinance penalizing penaliz-ing those who operate motors or other radio reception interfering in-terfering devices from 5 P- M. until midnight, the sum of one hundred dollars. A recent news item states that the city is finding it difficult to enforce it's law. It is hardly reasonable to curtail, under penalty, the operation of industrial machinery and devices in favor of radios. Radio listening-in, to most people, is as yet, only a hobby a pleasure; the operation of machinery at night i3 only done as a necessity. To the dyed-in-the-wool radio fan, man-made static i3 one of the most abominable things in the world. But it i3 not feasible to flatly refuse the operation of electric devices on the grounds that it disturbs the waves of ether. Considerate Con-siderate adjustment and correction can be made which will minimize static. . , t. |
