I have Just recehed a letter from the Stark Bros, and will quote part as follows: We will be glad to have you go ahead with the can-vass can-vass providing some arrangements can be made to take care of the freight charges on shipments. We have recalled re-called all of our other salesmen from your state on account of the high rates and expense of getting stock out there. The demand is heavy here and we can sell our stock right here. If you will stand part of the freight charges we will be glad to have you to go. ahead with the work. We will pay say up to a dollar or $1.25 per hundred and you pay the balance. Advise U3 whether this Is satisfactory and we will forward supplies sup-plies and literature for you to go ahead with the work. Truly, L. E. STARK, Ass't. Sec. Treasurer. The freight rates from Louisiana, Missouri, to Price are $2.20 per hundred and the rate from Price was $1.90 per hundred, making a total of $4.10 per hundred Instead of raising the price of trees approximately 12 ViVo they gave me the choice of discontinuing the agency or paying part of the freight.
