Good fishing and camping places of unusual scenic attraction abound in the Uintah mountains on the west of the basin. Some of the places of greatest interest ace only .accessible .accessi-ble by trail and pack outfits but the pleasure seeker is amply repaid for the extra trouble involved in outfitting out-fitting for such trips. Grandaddy lakes and the heads of Rock creek, Lakefork, Uintah and Whiterocks rivers and the North fork of the Duchesne river are reached reach-ed by this means of travel. Here are found the highest mountain peaks in the state, as well as the best fishing fish-ing and most beautiful mountain scenery. Strawberry valley, the West fork f Duchesne river, the beautiful Moon Lake on Lakefork and the lower parts, of Uintah and White-rocks White-rocks rivers are reached by auto and wagon roads. Fishing aud camping grounds and desirable summer home sites are plentiful at these places also. al-so. If you are interested, and everyone should be, full information on the various points of interest and directions direc-tions for reaching them will be gladly glad-ly furnished by the Forest supervisor supervis-or Vernal, or the Forest rangers stationed sta-tioned at Dcheusnei Stockmore, Alto-nah Alto-nah and Whiterocks. The U. S. Forest service is encouraging en-couraging the recreational use of the forests by the careful pleasure seeker, who keeps his camp clean, does not throw burning matches, cigarette or pipe ashes into brush or 'leaves, puts out his camp fire itefore leaving it, and otherwise helps to prevent forest fires. t-t-X |
