Show o SURVEY PUBLIC LANDS A special appropriation bill, calling call-ing for an extra $300,000 for the survey of public lands, may be introduced intro-duced and passed before the adjournment adjourn-ment of the present congress, according ac-cording to an announcement made by I. C. Thoresen, United States surveyor general for Utah. ' If such an appropriation is secured, secur-ed, application for the survey of 160 townshfps-ln Utah, involving 3.450,-000 3.450,-000 acres, which, with present facilities, fa-cilities, could not be handled short of six years' time, might be completed complet-ed within one year and accommodate mere than 500 persons who desire to settle upon the land, Mr. Thoresen said. Mr. Thoresen, realizing the Import -1 '.nice of decisive action in the surveys, is urging that everything possble be done to carry the appropriation through before adjournment of the present session at Washington. |
