I TUB TilE LEAI LEAFLETS LEAFLET'S LETS DANCE DANCEr r ONE NE day before the flowers had bloomed or the buds come out the little Leaflets began to complain to the Trees where they thy lived JIved that they never nevel had any fun tun that no one ever noticed them either cither for all an the Blossoms and Fruit took the attention from them We never neve have a party or anything anything any any- thing sighed the Leaflets and no noone one cares anything about us But if It It were not for tor us I am sure the Trees v 3 S s w c ss By and By the Moon Came Up would look Jook queer and the Fruit or Blossoms would not be half halt as fu ful J. J In vain did the Trees tell them that they were and that everyone every ery one loved loed to look Jook at their shining green dresses but still sUll the little Leaflets Leaflets Leaf lets grumbled and fussed and at last all the trees talked it over one one night and it was decided that the Leaflets should have baye n a dance all by themselves before the Blossoms or the I Fruit came As all the festl festivals ls and parties take place on moonlight nights the Trees waited until the moon was shining full tull fulland fulland and bright and then they told the Leaflets about the dance All the little tittle Breezes were Invited to help with the dancing ard even Brisk Wind was asked to come around for tor a while The Soft Sighing Winds were asked to furnish the music for the Trees wanted the Leaflets LearIe s to have a wonderful dance When the little tittle Leaflets heard they were to have a 0 dance they could not not keep sU still and long before belore the dance began they were ere swaying and flutterIng fluttering flutter flutter- Ing about practicing all nil the fancy steps they could think of ot for the wonderful won dance By Dy and b by the Moon came up and the dance begun began The Little Breezes 11 T I C J were their partners and they enjo enjoyed ed the frolic as we well as the Leaflets Suddenly some of them discovered their shadows on the ground and they danced faster taster than ever In fact tact old Mr Moon grew rew tired and sleepy and went to bed and still the dunce went wenton on for tor now they had found something that amused them the Leaflets would not stop They tired out the Little Breezes and they went hon hone e and not until then did the Leaflets stop dancing It was n a long time ago that the Leaflets held their first dance but ever since they are always calling the Little Breezes or the Brisk Breeze Dreez to come and dance with witt them Often when 0 all the rest of the world seems quiet If If you look at the young Leaflets you ou will no doubt see some of them at nt least swaying and swingIng swinging swing swing- Ing trying ne new nest steps and watching the shadows they make on the ground round Never er c since that night Ion long ago have the Trees been a able le to keep the Leaflets from dancing but as they never fuss or complain the Trees do rio donot donot not mind And so while they sleep the tM little Leaflets go on with their dance sometimes even een dancing In the rain 0 Q D 1922 nn by McClure Newspaper Syndicate |
