Anderson, Ex-Mayor and present principal of the Fillmore High School, took first prize at the Utah State Fair this year. The young man had over an acre of it. The cash returns from his crop were good, and added to that the fact that he got the first prize in the state, and the young man is greatly elated. So for as our knowledge goes, this is the first prize ever won by Millard on celery; heretofore it was not thought possible. It open9 a vista into the future in which one can see more truck gardening for Millard, and that high productivity which our northern nieghbors boast of. . For there is a large profit in the intense cultivation of a small patch of table food.- We congratulate the young man, and the father too, whose son won this achievement. |
