Show DRAINAGE NOTES In District No. 3 (North Tract) Foley's men, who were away on vacations va-cations during the bad part of the weather, are now all back again on the job. The work north of Woodrow is now nearing completion, and It will be a matter of a few days only until the tile machine remaining in this portion completes the few miles of trench. The machine will then move west of the railroad tracks to a location loca-tion west of Morrison's place, and there dig trench for the tile lines running to the "D" open drain. One machine is ready west of Morrison's and east of the railroad tracks, digging dig-ging trenches south and east toward Mr. Brown's farm. The third machine hit a quicksand pocket about a mile east of Jacob Schwartz', necessitating the relaying of a few feet of tile. The fourth machine is working on the line west of the Woodrow Hall. The fifth machine just set In a week ago on the land about the "C" open drain northeast of the Linvinga-Lon Linvinga-Lon ranch and will dig trench for tile running east to Frank Heise's. All work In the district is progressing progress-ing nicely. The contractors invite newcomers to visit that region and Inspect the tile lines. They are running run-ning a great quantity of water, especially espe-cially north of Woodrow, and at thia time of the year the lines in that region re-gion are the best to inspect to see how the tile is removing the water. Last month 22 miles of tile were laid; about 135 miles remain yet to be done. : |
